Windows 10: My Wi-Fi Keeps turning off and wont turn back on.

For the past 2 weeks, my laptops internet has been randomly turning off and it won't turn back on unless I restart my device. I have checked for optional updates, I have done network resets but none of these things have worked. I just don't know what to do.

Cannot turn on wi fi

I just reset a Dell laptop for the 3rd time. For some reason I cannot connect to my wi fi network. When I go into Settings and Wi Fi, the option is to manually turn on the wi fi and the "On" slider to turn on the wi fi will not stay "On"....it just keeps
sliding back to "Off". I have run numerous diagnostics and it will not even recognize my network. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am frustrated beyond belief...saw the same issue on this Forum and followed the suggestions and still cannot manually
connect to the wi fi netowrk.

Thanks for your reply.

1a) What happens when I try to turn on Wi-Fi is nothing. The "slider" goes back to thee off position right after I try to turn it on.

2a) No, I did not receive any error message.

3a) Yes, I've had Norton Security installed. I made sure the version of Norton Security was the version that's supposed to be compatible with Windows 10 *before* I upgraded to Windows 10.

Airplane mode is NOT turned on, nor was it turned on.

As to the Network Troubleshooter:

Prior to your suggesting that I run the troubleshooter, I ran it to see if there was anything it could do and it informed me that the Wi-Fi adapter was turned off and told me to turn it on. Back at square one!

So, yes, I do need further assistance. Thanks so much!

Turn on Wi Fi automaticly

Cortana does work, but I had never turned it on since the QR.

On your suggestion, that they might be linked I turned it on.

Wi-Fi near my favorite places directly appeared as an option.

Issue fixed

Seems as though you have to start Cortana at least once in order to use this.
