My computer is a HP Pavilion Gaming laptop. This all started when I was not getting wifi options on my PC. Even the WiFi tab in my settings was absolutely missing. So I looked up different possible solutions. I went to my Network settings, did a network reset, waited the 5 minutes for my computer restart, and it did nothing. Problem persistsI troubleshooted the internet. Didn't address the problem. It persistsI went to services to see if my WLAN and WWAN configurations were running and set to automatic. They were, but I clicked to make sure just in case. It did nothing, the problem persists.I

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

Cannot uninstall wifi adapter

To help us identify the cause of the issue and then find the proper resolution for it, please provide the following information:

• When was the last time the WiFi adapter is working fine?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• What are the troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Wifi adapter stops working

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Please hover your mouse to the Network or Wireless icon at the lower right-hand corner then right click it and click Troubleshoot Network. Let the troubleshooter finish until its done then this should either fix the problem or give us an error message.

If that didn't work, we need to remove the WIFI driver from the Device Manager and restart the pc to reinstall it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Windows key+ X on Windows 10.

Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Right-click the problematic device Network Adapters it is either Wireless, or WIFI adapter and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

Step 5. Reboot the computer.

After the reboot, please see it the problem is fixed.

If that still would not work, please visit the support website of your laptop or desktop and then download and install the latest Wireless driver then restart the PC.
