Windows 10: my wifi capability does not come on at all and I dont know why

my WiFi capability does not come on at all and I don't know whyI have tried putting it on , on the windows settings and also used the keyboard functionality to put it on , I even resetted the networking but still my WiFi does not come on

I am only speculating as i don`t know what type of Setup ( External Modem / Router you have and if its Wireless capable ).

As to your Computers WiFi Modem.

You should see a Network Access Icon in the bottom Right Hand Side of you Task Bar. on your screen.

Hover your Mouse over it or Right Click on it to see what options you are given.

It should show a list of Networks Available.

In this list it should show the External Modem / Router what you are trying to connect to. ( Make sure its WiFi is Enabled or it wont show up in the list ).

If it is in the list select it and click Connect.

You may be asked for some other details such as WiFi Password or MAC Address or some form of Identifier which is usually supplied with External Modem / Router which you may have to enter manually to connect the two.

The external Modem / Router that you are trying to connect to usually come with a small Card with the WiFi Details such as WiFi Name / Provider / WiFi Password and some other documentation on connections.

Please how can I turn on my wireless capability on windows 10

Windows is actually not involved in setting up and managing a wireless network.

For wireless capability you need to have two things:

1- a WiFi network adapter; and

2- a WiFi router.

If your computer didn't come from the factory with a WiFi network adapter, you'll need to purchase one on your own and install it in your computer.

Once you have a WiFi network adapter, the owner's guide for your router will have complete step-by-step instructions for setting up your WiFi network. Just follow the instructions and you have WiFi capability.

 

Alienware 17 R3 laptop updated with windows 1709, Wifi now does not work. I dont know what im doing!

My Laptop updated with what i know now is called the windows 1709 update. After the update, I can no longer connect to any wifi. I dont know computers, and could really use a step by step guide to fix this problem.
