Windows 10: My wifi card and the wifi option itself are not showing up on my computer-- Windows

my computer has no wifi option and my wifi card isn't registering at all on my week old gaming PC. The only internet option I have is ethernet. I've watched multpile YT videos on the subject and none of it worked. I've attempted to reset my network on the pc as well as reset the PC itself. I've used scan for hardware changes in device manager and nothing's worked. I disabled windows firewall to and that didn't solve it either. I've also used the command panel code netsh winsock reset and netcfg -d and that hasn't worked. I even switched wifi cards and that didn't solve the problem. Anyway I wondering if anyone could help me? -I asked this question earliar but despite switching wifi cards my computer is still having the same irritating goddamn problem.

Windows 7 virtual wifi authentication mode

Hello.

Just a quick question to whoever is using windows 7 virtual wifi capability - when you type in "netsh wlan show hostednetwork", cmd window displays a list of settings for your hosted virtual wifi.

I was wondering, is there a way to change authentication method from WPA2-Personal to simple WEP ?

5ghz wifi not showing windows 10

I just got a new modem/router and it has a 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi connections...Only the 2.4ghz shows in the wifi list while the 5ghz isn't showing at all. My computer's network card does support the 5ghz and I know the 5ghz is working because I can connect to it from other devices...just not my desktop computer.

EDIT: I've attempted updating network driver, also resetting network in the settings menu. Both hasn't worked.

 

Disable Wifi Card

David's suggestion did not help, as after a restart/reboot, there is no way to enable/disable Wifi. The Wifi light is already blinking, and there is no option for Wifi in the Wireless Manager. The icon in the "status bar" gives me the option to "Disable
Wifi" when the light is blinking, and when the light eventually stops blinking, usually over 24 hours after the restart/reboot, it gives me the option to "Enable Wifi" but Wireless Manager still doesn't show Wifi as an option.

I suspect very strongly that it's a hardware issue, so I was hoping for a registry change or something that would allow me to disable the wifi card, like I can do with WinXP. Otherwise, it merely sucks up battery life until it gives up on the wifi card.
