Windows 10: My WiFi disappeared

My WiFi stopped working and I was wondering what the issue was, and when i tried to connect back to my WiFi it wouldn't show any connections. So I tried looking on Network Connections but there's no WiFi, only ethernet, which has its cable disconnected even though i don't use ethernet. I've tried going onto device manager and looking at hidden devices but the WiFi adapter isn't there, only the ethernet Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller is there. I've also tried turning off the ethernet and unplugging the PC and turning it back on, which worked once before but didn't work this time. Please c

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

Weak available wifi signals disappear

i require that i be able to see my neighbors wifi signal so i can geolocate, windows sees them when i first enable the wifi adapter, but after a period of time connected to my home wifi their weak signals disappear from the available network list.

i would like to find stop windows from eliminating the weak networks from the available list.
