Windows 10: My WiFi internet connection keeps jumping between closer and farther antennas, and the...

This is just how things are set up in this hotel I am at and I was wondering if it’s possible to improve the WiFi connection, because it keeps changing the signal strength and the technician told me my notebook which is totally updated on WU, is jumping antennas/access points.


First things first, there must be some way to see which access point my WiFi is using, can one of you let me know where I can find or set up this setting?


After I figure which access point is closest based on strength, I then need to figure how to stick to it. I also need help with this.

External USB WiFi antenna doesn't see a network, but integrated does

External USB WiFi antenna doesn't see a network, but integrated wifi card does, even though it has a much lower range! It makes absolutely no sense, why wouldn;t the stronger antenna list this netowrk? I really need to connect to it in order to use the internet properly...

I tried disabling and uninstalling the internal Intel N-1000 WiFi card, and nothing changes...

 

I need advice building a wifi antenna.....

Lets start things out by stating I am in Afghanistan currently deployed (USMC for those who care). The internet here is not the best by a long shot we have wifi in our rooms which broadcasts on 2.4ghz. I work about 1/4 mile from my room but there is billeting closer to my work which are all on the same wifi system. At work outside I scan and see the network but the signal is not strong enough to connect anything too. I ordered a duel antenna usb adapter tonight (not ideal but I'm connecting to a laptop so it'll have to do). I am thinking about getting some cable extensions for the antennas and building a small parabolic dish to focus the signal onto the antennas.

My question is has any one tried this? and if they have how well has it worked?
Also if any one knows of a fast shipping company with networking stuff like cable extensions for antennas to FPO's that would help out a lot.

On the left, look through the 'Long Range WiFi' menu. Lots of really good stuff. I have made one of the Yagi antennas, but I never completed it. It's done, but it's missing the cable that connects the antenna to the wifi source.
