Windows 10: My Window 11 Asus Tuf is not detecting my Dell E1910 Monitor using HDMI to VGI cable.

I have a Dell E1910 Monitor which has a VGI port. I want to connect it with my Asus Tuf A15 Windows 11 laptop which has only hdmi port. i try to use a vgi to hdmi cable, but my laptop is not detecting that monitor. I have already update my AMD radeon graphic & gtx 1650 drivers. Inside device manager , inside Monitors, it is showing Generic Monitor MacroSilicon. I tried to update its driver automatically , but it also didn't work. I tried to lower to screen resolution &frequency, but it also didn't work. please helpWhen i connected the same monitor with hp windows 10 laptop using sam

HDMI cable not detected by computer

I want to connect to a monitor or TV with HDMI. No signal to either. Monitor says "no signal coming from your computer".

I have tried with no success:

• HDMI directly into Nvidia 980 HDMI slot
  
• HDMI directly into motherboard slot, Intel i6700k with integrated graphics
  
• HDMI indirectly into HDMI(female)-to-Displayport(male) adapter, into Nvidia 980 Displayport slots
  

I have verified:

• Cable plugged into second computer, connected fine to monitor and TV
  
• Tried different HDMI cable, same results on both computers
  
• Displayport slots on Nvidia 980 work on monitor with DP-mDP cable
  
• Both monitor and TV are 4k. Output is 4k on other computer, and 4k using Displayport on this computer.
  
• Used newest graphics driver for Nvidia 980
  
• Used old graphics driver (2020) for Nvidia 980
  

All cases, other computer connected successfully and this computer received "no signal"

Other than the hardware checks and the driver checks, I am not sure what other steps I should try.

Since it applies to both Nvidia 980 and motherboard, and since Displayport works but HDMI through Displayport doesn't work, I feel like there is some issue in the computer working with HDMI signals.

Sharing ASUS Monitor with two Computers

Hello All,

I have an HDMI Monitor sharing switch. I want to share a brand new ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A with my work laptop and my home computer (Desktop). The ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A has both HDMI and DisplayPort, my home computer has HDMI and my work laptop has DisplayPort.

I tried to connects the Asus Monitor via an HDMI cable to the monitor sharing switch. I connected the Asus to the monitor sharing switch via an HDMI Cable. I then connected my home computer to the switch via HDMI cable. I connected my work laptop via HDMI Cable and a converter which takes HDMI and converts HDMI into DisplayPort. My home computer works without issues but my work laptop flickers and will not work.

After lots of troubleshooting and trying different things, I am convinced that when I use an HDMI to Displayport cable or if I take an HDMI cable and I use an HDMI to Displayport adapter, the Asus Monitor does not work. It did not matter if it was my work pc or home pc, the moment I use an adapter or HDMI to Displayport cable, the Asus monitor would not work.

I am willing to try more troubleshooting steps so if you can think of anything, let me know. Ultimately, I think the fix is to change the video card on my home PC to Displayport so I am using Displayport on my home computer, work computer and on the Asus Monitor. I have a Displayport monitor switch.

I am running Windows 10.

HDMI not detecting monitor

Hi,

I am WFH at the moment and have been using my laptop and Dell monitor for a dual screen, it was working fine first thing this morning but Windows then did some form of update and now the monitor is not being detected through the HDMI cable, I tried this with another cable and monitor and the same result?

I have tried updating drivers etc but this is still not working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
