Windows 10: My window camera is not working although the camera light comes when the camera is turned on.

I had a zoom meeting 2 weeks ago and discovered that my windows camera had stopped working. Since then, I have tried to troubleshoot the problem, reset, and repair the camera, I have even uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail.Each time I switch on the camera, the light comes on, but 2 lines are drawn across the camera icon as if the camera is off. At one point, I got a message that the camera had been reserved for an app. I could not detect which app had done that so I could disable it.I will appreciate whatever helpful suggestion to get it working again.

Camera Low Light Threshold

Hey Dalchina, I did speak to Lenovo and go over the camera settings available in the Vantage app, but there isn't anything, unfortunately. Your t440s doesn't have a privacy shield, right? When both the privacy shield *and* a camera utilizing app are open, the camera LED light illuminates. When I turn off the lights in the room, the light remains lit, but the feed changes to that image in the OP. As I write this though, I fear that may just be a "feature" of the driver, and not a setting exposed directly to Windows. Before I posted, I thought the gray 'check privacy shutter' image--as well as the 'crossed out camera' image you get when the camera isn't detected--were coming directly from Windows. I've googled a bit more now, and I frankly only see those images in the context of a Lenovo system, so I may be hosed after all! lol

 

Dell camera driver

• To open up your webcam or camera, select the Start Windows logo Start button button, and then select Camera in the list of apps.
• If you want to use the camera within other apps, select the Start Windows logo Start button button, select Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Privacy > Camera, and then turn on Let apps use my camera. 
• From there, turn on each of the listed apps where you want to use the camera. Test your camera here

idgat: The camera works on other apps including live streaming to YouTube, so I'm guessing not.

Anibor: the driver reset did nothing.

Also, I've notice that, while trying to setup the camera on Zoom, the camera light is active. So something is working.
