Windows 10: My Window updates stops and freezes once it gets to 98% complete.

My Window updates stops and freezes once it gets to 98% complete. Nothing I do on my keyboard i.e. ctrl, shift, esc... does not do anything. All I can do is turn off computer and reboot to the exact same scenario, over and over again. What can I do to to get my info off the hard drive and transfer my library of music on I tunes not purchased through apple, but uploaded library and transfer everything to another computer. I bought this beautiful computer in 2015 and don't see why it wont work anymore after I have been running windows 10 for over a year now.. Once Windows updated my computer i

Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows 98 problem

why not try to use virtual PC and emulate windows 98 on a XP machine or did someone already suggest that?
