Windows 10: My windows 10 apps shows Big red X

I have been getting this for the last month and I have searched the net but didn't find a fix.
this is my problem I lost all the correct icons to windows app form the store that comes with windows and I keep getting other icons instead or sometimes they are just seethrough.

I have tried to reset the apps but no luck there.

Ethernet shows red X and does not appear in settings, but still works


Not sure why this is happening. I have working ethernet and am connected, it works fine. But the taskbar icon shows a red X over it, and the tooltip says "Not Connected - No connections are available". Looking in "Network & Internet", ethernet is not even listed there. And before anyone suggests wireless interference .. this PC does not have a wireless card or integrated wireless.

It's an issue that can occur depending on several factors, but I'd try the steps outlined here first: Windows shows
red “X” on network icon, but I'm connected

Are you using an Insider build? This is a known issue in one recent one (can't remember which one). I believe the latest preview build fixes it.
