    Does anyone know how I can get to the Microsoft Boot Manager? When I turn on my Lenovo Thinkpad it goes to a Lenovo Boot Menu. It only shows PXI. I have checked my Bios and my correct boot device is listed. I have tried moving it to the top of the boot order even before USB or CD/DVD but my machine still goes to Lenovo boot menu and only shows PXI.

    Boot Manager Is Missing

    You need to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment. For that you need to boot into Recovery Environment and perform a "Startup Repair". If that fails then boot into WinRE again, and go to the "Command Prompt" and execute this command:

    Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

    Restore boot manager when it is missing or compressed
    Use Bootrec.exe in the Windows RE to troubleshoot startup issues - Microsoft Support

    I have an asus x99-a motherboard. when I enter the bios boot menu there is a line Hard Drive BBS Priorities. I have two bootable dries, P3 and P7. They used to come up in the list showing they were using the widows boot manager. Recently windows boot manager
    has disappeared from this list and I now have trouble getting the machine to boot to P3 or P7. How can I correct this problem.

    Ruth Thank You for your ideas on what is wrong. My first post stated that Win 10 did an automatic update which included a restart. The restart did not happen for some reason. I was left with a black screen with BOOTMGR is missing Ctrl Alt Del to restart. Which
    failed. Since then I have had a screen which stated that the "C" drive (where Win 10 is installed) is locked. Looking at my BIOS screen shows that it does NOT appear in the boot menu. The "C" has been allocated to my disc drive by the BIOS. Nothing that has
