    My old win 10 computer died! on that computer my (boot) C: drive was essentially "data free", programs were on C:, data was stored on LOTS of external drives.

    I bought a new win 11 machine, but have not yet attached any of my external drives to it; I have b/u's of the C: drive from my old computer.

    (1) After installing my NEW computer, internet passwords were "automatically(?)" ported to it--how did that happen? Was this due to MS Edge?

    (2) I have a wireless printer, when I first installed it on my old computer (even though it was wireless) at one step in the installation I did have to temporarily attach a usb cable; my new computer "found" the wireless printer and got it working without attaching a usb cable(???)

    (3) If my new machine is directed to a copy of my "old" C: drive, will the old programs "easily" transfer to my new computer?

    Use old computer Windows 10 File history to restore files to new Windows 11 Computer

    My old Windows 10 computer died, but I do have an external drive with file history backup.

    When I try to use file history on the new Windows 11 computer the instructions for file history start setting up a new file history backup instead of recovering from an old one. Is there a way to recover the files I backed up with my old Windows 10 computer onto my new Windows 11 computer?
