Windows 10: My Windows 10 laptop doesn't register any other external microphones except the realtek...

I have tried everything I have seen online to no avail including; - going back to an older driver- letting apps access the mic- checking the control panel and attempting to enable in the recording tabAll of the attached devices are "enabled" in the recording tab of the control panel. In the control panel and also when troubleshooting it says they aren't connected and they are 'greyed out' with a red down arrow despite them being connected for output. Can someone help please?The spec of my laptop is ; Dell Inspiron gaming 15 7567

My headphones microphone doesn´t work

I recently updated my Asus laptop to windows 10 and noticed that my microphone doesn´t work anymore. Before it was working well and after the update it started using my laptops own mic and in settings i cant change input to anything

3. Device Manager:
   
   • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Device Manager."
     
   • Look for any entries related to your external microphone. It should appear under "Audio inputs and outputs."
     
   • If you see the microphone listed, make sure it's enabled and up to date. You can right-click on it and choose "Enable" or "Update driver."
