Windows 10: My windows 10 log in screen doesn’t show anything

I’ve just encounterd a problem with my log in screen after opening my laptop with windows 10 installed again from closing the screen the night before. I had only closed my screen as in putting my screen all the way down and waiting for it to shut off and forgot to actually shut it down. When my computer automatically started after I raised the screen, the log in screen appeared blank.

So my log in screen isn’t showing anything other than a background picture, no log in prompt or tool bar to enter my password. It isn’t even showing the system buttons on the bottom right of the screen which really worries me because I don’t know if I’ll be able to fix my problem without them.


The only thing along with the background picture that will show on my screen is my mouse pointer. I am still able to move the pointer around, but that’s about it. Usually, when you press any key, you’ll get access to the the password toolbar but that isn’t working either. I am stuck on a screen with a background picture and a mouse pointer that can be moved.

I have also read other posts about their log in screen not showing, but they still have the bottom right system buttons. I don’t, and that feels a tad bit concerning to me.

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
