Windows 10: My Windows 10 Pro Asus N56J somehow turned into a Faraday Cage when transmitting Data on...

I can't pinpoint it to any certain event within my home LAN, but I noticed one day when downloading a Linux Distro for Cisco DevNet stuff, my TV remote / PS4 controller / PS4 official Wireless bluetooth headset stopped working - And immediately when I put it in sleep mode within 30 seconds everything wireless starts working again - Has anyone ever experienced or heard of this?

It used to get 150+down/10up mbps on it, now it can't break 10mbps download but has no problem jumping directly to 10mbps upload.

It even starts causing my work laptop next to it to start spinning 100% CPU if I even stream a video, and that runs on 5ghz - What on Earth could be causing this?

I literally did a speedtest immediately after it booted up after and same result, is there any steps to even start troubleshooting this? Someone just having fun with a signal jammer?

I ordered a USB Dual Band 2.4/5ghz adapter that I'm hoping will allow it to use 5mbps, but this is SO weird I'm unsure that will even help.

Any advice appreciated, I cannot believe the complete reset did not do anything.

Compability of Asus H97-Pro with Windows 10 (64-bit)


I'm planning to have Asus H97-Pro & Windows 10 (64-bit) in my new system.

While cross checking compatibilty I landed on Windows Compatible Products List
and according to that Asus H97-Pro is only comatible with Windows 7 & 8.

Please suggest whether Asus H97-Pro is actually compatible with Windows 10 or not.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Pro or Windows 8 Pro from Windows 7 Pro ?


Just replaced motherboard on my old Dell D830 that I had upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7 Pro last August.

Went through steps on setting up new MOBO and it is up/working just fine.

I happened to run Belarc Advisor just to get a snapshot of data for the file. What is interesting is that Belarc indicates the O/S is Windows 8 Pro (build 9200).

I looked at another recent thread here at TenForums and also took some of the steps suggested and figured that maybe I needed to install or re-install Windows 10. I checked the Update/Security/Activation tab and it indicates that Windows 10 Pro is installed, activated with a digital entitlement.

So ... why does Belarc seem to see only Windows 8 Pro? Maybe because of the "maturity" of the D830? I know that Dell has disclaimers at their site that says the D830 has not been certified for Windows 10.

So, it is working, but the data from Belarc just has me scratching my head.

Any suggestions or thoughts?
