Windows 10: My Windows 10 sometimes shows directories twice, and seems to double the number of files!

For instance, I have a fair old number of music files, and they're stored on one partition of an external drive, with folders like Rock, Prog Rock, Classical etc.When I use Windows Explorer to look for a particular artist, say, Pink Floyd, it shows each directory twice, and each instance of Pink Floyd within!If I select ONE copy, and hit Delete, it deletes both copies!Please help before I lose my mind! :-O

apologies if this has been asked before, but here goes.

I recently upgraded my windows 7 laptop to windows 10. It would seem to have been successful, and I am pleased with the outcome.

Just noticed a little quirk, and need advice.
When I plug in a USB memory stick OR a USB external drive - the device shows twice in the directory. As I type this, I have a USB external hard drive plugged in. The directory list shows 2 entries 'E Drive' - when both are expanded, each has full details of the disks content!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
