    My Windows 10 Surface computer did not shut down and showed an app that would not close....


    10 Surface computer did not shut down and showed an app that would not close. ZPtoolbarparentwnd. Is this malware and how do I get rid of it? My computer is going extremely slow.

    Surface displays "Shutting Down"

    My Surface Pro is one of the originals. It is running Windows 10 Pro Insider.

    For the last hour it has been displaying "Shutting Down" with the dotted wheel circulating.

    If I switch off the power, the same message shows when I repower the unit.

    Any suggestions for getting it to either close down totally or to reboot?

    Original title: Apps preventing Windows from shutting down.

    This is something I cant explain need help. At times when I shut down Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3 its shows a blue screen showing an app that is preventing the shut down it does not say what it is. Were that should be above the file symbol is what looks
    like a bunch of oriental script. I have run Norton and it finds nothing I should not have on the computer there

    Hello Jimmy, My Windows 10 Surface computer did not shut down and showed an app that would not close.... :)

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
