Windows 10: My Windows 10 update changed the background color of my start menu to grey. How to change?

The recent Windows 10 update changed the background color of my start menu to grey. This doesn't look good, because the boxes in the Productivity section are also a shade agree. It blends in. I want to go back to the old color of my start menu, without changing color elsewhere. Is this possible? Thanks. - Mark

These procedures not helped to change the background color of the start menu by (right click)





I want to change the black color to grey color as previous.

Please help.

Also previously right click will show the control panel, system, device manager etc. now it is not showing.

Hi,

You can change the background color of the the Start menu on Settings. To do this, follow the steps below:

• Click the Windows logo (Start button).
• Click the gear icon (Settings).
• Choose Personalization.
• Select Colors.
• Under Show color on Start, taskbar, and action center, switch the slider to
  On.
• After switching the slider to On, you can now pick what color you want or you can click the
  Automatically pick an accent color from my background checkbox to make Windows pick the color that complements the color of your desktop background.

Change Menus Background Color

I have Windows 10 Home, version 1709, OS Build 16299.19 and although there are tons of info on the web to change menu color they all apply to previous Windows versions.


I’m referring to the notification area and the one which opens when I right click on the taskbar and all I want is to have white background with black letters. Is there any way to do this? (I have no problem editing the registry if I know what has
to be changed).



I have manage to change the right click menus in the file explorer from a faded grey background with ugly small fonts to a white background with bold black fonts by using the utilities “advchange.exe” and “colorclassic.exe” and I also have change the
start menu with the “Classic Start Menu”.
