Windows 10: My Windows 10 will not restore or reset correctly.

I have a Dell Inspiron All-in-One PC that is 7 years old and came with Windows 10. About a month ago I found that the TIMBA virus had gotten in past all my security. I did a system restore and it has been one problem after another. It would not boot and lock up and i would fix that then it would be something else. For example today it did not recognize my power source and shut down. The main problem is updates. Right now I can go to update history and see that the lastest update 22H2 was successful installed but it tried and failed to install it 7 more times after that. I went through and f

Having random resets on Windows 10

I would suggest trying another PSU.
It appears to me it cuts out under load.
Use CPUID HWMonitor to check voltages while running at idle, then load.
Not resetting while in BIOS, does not mean Hardware isn't to blame, it only shows basic drivers and hardware are functioning correctly.

 

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
