Windows 10: My windows 11 computer keeps playing the alarm ringtone whenever it gets a notification

I've already tried checking system sounds. Hi,

Follow these steps to change ringtones and voicemail notification sound:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the action center.

2. Tap ALL SETTINGS.

3. Tap ringtones+sounds. Or tap notifications+actions. (If you want to change notification sounds for the apps in your phone.)

4. Tap Ringtone to set the phone ringtone.

5. Tap the Play icon next to a ringtone to play a sample.

6. Tap the name of the ringtone to select it.

7. Tap Reminders to set the notification sound.

8. Tap the Play icon next to a sound to play a sample.

9. Tap the name of the sound to select it.

Alarm clock not playing unless I open the notification tab

Whenever I set my alarm clock for a specific time. It does not play to wake me, or if I need a reminder for an appointment. However, when I open the notification window. It plays within that window. When I dismiss the notification, the alarm clock does not
stop playing unless I close the window, but if I re-open it, the plays the tone, despite the alarm being dismissed from that window, and even going as far as to delete the saved alarm time.

I've made sure notifications are enabled.

I've made sure that my systems does not go to sleep.

I've even changed to different sounds within the alarm clock just to make sure it wasn't a one off of a tone not playing.

Ringtone maker - setting alarm sounds

I updated my Lumia 800 to the latest Windows Phone 7.8 software yesterday. I then downloaded the new Ringtone Maker app from the Nokia Collection. No problem. The steps to create custom ringtone were intuitive, and worked.



After I saved a custom ringtone, there was a screen message - "Tip - custom ringtones can be used for your alarm sounds too." So I created a custom tone to use as message / email alarm.



When I go into "Settings" on my Lumia 800, the custom tones I created show when setting the phone's ringtone, and the new ringtone works fine. However, when trying to set a custom ringtone as message / email alarms, I don't get the option to access the custom
ringtones.



Does the app really support creating custom tones for alarm sounds? Or have I missed something? Any advice?
