    My Windows 11 HP doesn't actually sleep when I hit sleep or close the laptop? And it overheats


    My HP Spectre x360 Windows 11 does not go to sleep when I close the lid. Even when I manually put my computer to sleep in often stays on and overheats. Even if the screen will go black when I manually sleep it, when I turn the laptop sideways to put it into my bag it can turn on again and then run for hours against my knowledge and be completely dead later in the day. I have checked my power settings and sleep mode and everything is set to normal?

    Sleep mode when lid is closed

    When I close the lid of my Lenovo laptop with Windows 7, the computer doesn NOT go to sleep. The settings in Control Panel are correct: When I Close The Lid I have put SLEEP for battery and plugged in mode. How can I get it to go back to working normally
    and putting my laptop to sleep mode when I close the lid? I already had Windows 7 re-installed, but the problem is still there. Thank you My Windows 11 HP doesn't actually sleep when I hit sleep or close the laptop? And it overheats :)

    Laptop doesn't sleep when lid is closed.

    I am on Windows 10 HP laptop and when I close the lid it doesn't go to sleep or turn off the screen.

    I have the "When I close the lid" in system settings set to sleep on battery and sleep plugged in. It doesn't work though.

    What did you do with the Power Options and what exactly do you want ?

    Do you want to put the computer to Sleep mode when you close the lid ?
    If yes, go back to your Power Options > left side, click Choose what closing the lid does > right side, at When I close the lid, make sure you set it at Sleep > click Save changes when done.

    If however, you want to computer to Shut down, which I don't think what is you are asking anyway, you will then click the pointer and select Shut down.
