Windows 10: My Windows 11 keeps restoring some of the icons pinned to the taskbar

My Windows 11 keeps restoring some of the icons pinned to the taskbar, in my case they are File Explorer, Outlook, Edge. It goes so: 1. I unpin them 2. Restart computer or Windows Explorer in task manager3. All 3 are backMy company support spent a few hours investigating my PC and all they were able to come up with was "We checked other computers and think some apps pre-pinned by default" and that pretty much was a statement that they cannot do anything. I believe it could be something to do with group policy managing my PC but am unable to prove it. Ideas?Here's the video illustrating the pro

How to pin Excel pinned files to taskbar icon?

Hi,

Please note that the pinned files on Windows taskbar are not the same as the pinned files in Excel or any Office apps. You would have to use the pin button on the taskbar to pin that file to the taskbar list. To do this, click the Start button, look for Excel icon in your taskbar and right click on it. It will show you your recently opened files in Excel. Hover over the file you want to pin and click on the "Pin to this list" button to pin that file to your taskbar pinned list. Hope this helps!

How do I pin "This Pc" to taskbar?

It looks like this method is working for me. It's a detailed step by step solution, but not too hard to follow, and now I have a "This PC" pinned to the task bar and so far so good.

 

Excel Taskbar Icon not showing pinned workbooks

The Office 365 Excel Taskbar icon will not show list of pinned workbooks. I have to open Excel and then select from pinned workbooks.

The windows update assistant was used to do an update install, keep programs and files.
