Windows 10: my windows 11 laptop keeps asking for a pin number instead of password and i can't log in.

hello.i guess there was an update or something because suddenly the only option for Login to the laptop is with a pin number which i never set.there is no other option of Login. there is no option to change the login option, and i don't have the power options.

My friends laptop usually asks for a 4 digit pin to log in. However today it is asking for a password which she is unable to remember or she never set one up as she uses the PIN.

Some clarifying info, I believe the account is a local one on the laptop so password recovery is not an option. The security questions also come back negative despite the answers she gives. The main issue is how to get the system to change back to asking for a pin.

The log in screen does not provide options to change the log in method or to create/log in as another user. I have rolled back the recent update with no luck. Also the cmd print net user does not list any users on the system except

WDAGUtilityAccount

Any advice would be appreciated.

My Windows 11 is suddenly asking for a pin instead of a password on startup screen. I tried uninstalling updates through the Shift Restart and Advanced options process with no luck. Any advice on how to get back to login with my password?

 

Laptop windows 11 suddenly asks for password when usually I use PIN

I restarted my laptop and usually, I log in with a PIN. But suddenly, it asks for a password instead and I can't log in at all. I'm stuck at the lock screen. Windows R is not working either because I need to enter with a password or else.
