Windows 10: My windows 11 pc boots up and then will not run any programs.

My PC boots up to windows 11 fine and then no programs will run. I have tried restarting in safe mode and the mouse does not work in safe mode.

Please reply:

1. What is the complete error message you received?

2. Did you use the Media Creation tool or Get Windows 10 app to upgrade to Windows 10?

3. Is the SSD listed in BIOS?

From the description, I understand that after running a program PC Pitstop, the computer doesn't boot or start.

In this scenario, I suggest you to create an Installation Media and try installing Windows 10. As this issue caused due to a third party program, this is the only option here to fix the issue.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps

  On a working PC, go to the
  Microsoft software download website and create
  Windows 10 installation media.
  
• 
  Insert the installation media you created, and then restart your PC.
  
• 
  On the Install Windows screen, select Repair your computer. (If you’re not seeing this screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to boot
  from media, and then try again.)
  
• 
  On the Choose an option screen, select
  Troubleshoot. Select Advanced Options >
  Startup Repair.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix
