My Windows 11 version is 22631.3810, but the Copilot program is still not activated for me, what should I do? I make changes in the registry settings, according to the screenshot you can see, but unfortunately, after every power-on and power-off of the system, these settings return to their original state, and I cannot use Copilot. Thank you for your help.

    :)

Windows + C shortcut no longer working for Copilot in Windows 11 (build 22631.3810)

Hi Andi, I am , a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand you're having issues launching Copilot in Windows 11 (Preview), and I'm here to help you.

The shortcut key is still working in the recent update as I tested, and we're on the same build. It's possible that this is a temporary bug on your system. May I know what troubleshooting steps you have already taken?

Does the issue persist even after restarting the Windows Explorer process from Task Manager, reinstalling the keyboard driver from Device Manager, resetting, and performing a force shutdown?

If so, please let me know. If not, I can guide you through those steps.

In the meantime, Microsoft is planning to retire the Windows + C shortcut in the future and has already rolled this out for insider builds. This change is to make way for a new dedicated Copilot key that will be available on all new Copilot+ PCs. You can find more information here: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/... However, this has not yet been introduced in the current public build you have. However It's possible it is gradually rolled out for some users.

I checked the current build and there's no indication that this feature has been added in the latest release: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/june-...

Should you need further information please let me know.

  3. How to disable copilot in Windows 11 23H2?

There is a solution to keep Copilot out of your eyesight, it does not permanently remove or uninstall Copilot from your Windows 11 environment. Microsoft is persistent and Copilot is inevitable, not to mention the latest computers are equipped with a dedicated Copilot Key in the keyboard. Hence, it is up to us to get used to this feature, and also the field of AI is exponentially increasing, so it is better to get used to it. However, the simple solution is to disable copilot via Taskbar as you mentioned that Policy Editor didn't help. The following are the steps.

    • Go to Windows Settings.
    • Click on Personalization.
    • Under Taskbar, you can find Copilot (preview)
    • Toggle the switch to Off.
    • In this way, Copilot can be kept out of sight.

I hope the same works for you.

How to disable copilot in Windows 11 23H2?

I recently noticed that Copilot is active on my Windows 11 PC running version 23H2, and I want to disable copilot in my windows 11. Despite following various guides, I'm still unable to turn it off. I tried navigating through the settings, but the option to disable Copilot seems to be missing. I also checked for any updates that might address this issue, but nothing seems to work. It's becoming frustrating because Copilot is interfering with my usual workflow, popping up at inconvenient times and slowing down my system.

I've even attempted to disable it via Group Policy Editor and registry tweaks, as suggested in some forums, but to no avail. The Copilot feature persists, making my user experience less than ideal. It's crucial for me to have a streamlined and efficient system for my work, and this issue is becoming a significant hindrance. I rely heavily on my PC for my professional tasks, and these disruptions are affecting my productivity.

Additionally, I've reached out to Microsoft support, but the solutions provided have not resolved the issue. I've tried restarting my PC, performing clean boots, and even reinstalling some components, but Copilot remains active. It's clear that this problem requires a more in-depth solution than what's available through standard troubleshooting steps.

Version 15063 still activates with an 8 key: Had an old 8 key - just used it to activate version 15063. So either this is not CU, or CU can still be activated with old keys (unless MS have a way to pull the shutters down). 80265
