  1. My windows applications are disappearing, what could be the cause of this?

System: Windows 10 A few days ago mspaint vanished from my computer. I do not know how or why, but one day I right clicked on an image which I wished to edit and scrolled to open with paint. The problem was paint wasn't there. I clicked on load more apps and it didn't show up. Here is what I tried afterward.-I clicked on search computer for more apps to open the png file, and did not find in Windows/System32.-I pressed the windows key to search for it, but only got the Paint 3D-I pressed win + r and typed mspaint, and nothing came up At that point, I decided that looking for it wasn'

Windows 10 update: start up and sleep issues caused

    Dear Vijay,

Thank you for your response: apologies for slow feedback.

Regarding step 1 - doing a restore point : I tried this twice and twice it failed. Now, the date of the update that caused the issue (13/14 September 2019) has disappeared from the history list. Is there a way of finding it, still?

Regarding Step 2- the list of updates installed: the two suggestions above do not seem to appear in the list in the window "Installed Updates".

There are two updates listed for 13 September - Security Update for Adobe Flash Player and Security Update for Microsoft Windows.

Could you advise what I might try next?

    Thank you so much.

  3. The 'Photos' app for photo viewing has disappeared.

I do not understand this, when I returned to the PC later today my original settings had returned to the start screen, including one other tile which I had also lost but had not yet re-instated. Also the original list of 'All apps' had returned to the start
screen, including 'Photos'. There is nothing that I am aware of having done that should have caused the original disappearance of some apps from the 'All apps' list and their associated tiles, or that could have caused them to return.

It has therefore been unnecessary to follow your suggested steps, though I have done so anyway and it works as suggested. Note that I had followed your steps 1 & 2 earlier which is why I knew 'Photos' had not disappeared from the PC but was simply not
visible on the 'All apps' list and hence my inability to re-pin the tile.

Thank you for your reply and understanding my frustration.

To further help you with your issue,
    follow the troubleshooting
    methods below:

    link
    .

    Note:
    Refer
"How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting"
to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

    Method 2: SFC scan

confirmation, type your password, or click OK.

    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press
      ENTER:

    sfc /scannow

For further reference, refer to this

    link
    .

    Method 3:

We also suggest you to check if there is any application called "CA
Internet Suite" installed in your system. If you find such an application, follow these steps to uninstall the application:

    • Open
      Programs and Features
      by clicking the
      Start
      button, click
      Control Panel, go to
      Programsand then click
      Programs and Features.
