Windows 10: My windows automatically connected to my personal school's laptop' Windows 11 Education and...

When I connected my school email account to my desktop, it also changed my windows version. I wish to change it back but I cannot find the product key for my windows 10, I bought it digitally and still have the order and email to prove it, however, I cannot seem to find an email with any product key or digital licensing. Please help

Windows 11 education and school laptops

My school uses windows 11 education and standard lenovo thinkpad (11e yoga gen 6) they have proxy software and spyware in them meaning we are foricbly watched every second and cannot go to a lot of websites i tried booting from a USB into mint linux but the school locked the LENOVO bios with a supervisor password. All non school or microsoft applications or EXE files are fully blocked meaning that its impossible to get anything to work (I.E Pro uninstaller,all games or other entertainment apps,Steam,ETC.) i wish there was a way to forcibly take off the restraints although cmd prompt is blocked and they have blocked literally every loophole or exploit possible the only way to get the spyware and district settings off would be either wiping the system or upgrading to windows 11 pro (maybe) the other option would be to brute force the IT technicians password or try to get it from him.

 

Are there privacy and security risks if I use an Windows Education or Windows Enterprise?

Education and Enterprise when connected via a Domain have Group Policy set by the organization. If it's a school it's usually the same policy imposed on the school's own computers. But you can ask the School IT desk to be sure

The control is over Settings policy, not your personal data if it is not stored in the organization's OneDrive account. The school will probably have some method to pass in your assignments so the school has access, that should be it. Again if in doubt you can ask your school's IT desk as they are usually helpful and not interested in having a privacy scandal.

If you don't have a separate PC to install the school's account upon, then what I'd do to keep my personal account away from the Group Policy, is shrink c on your personal WIndows install and license, then install Education version in a Dual Boot as shown here, so you can go back and forth:

This way the school has no access to control anything on your personal install, it's like a separate computer.

When using your personal Teams account to join a meeting that originated from a Work or School Teams account, you previously had to join as a guest, often causing your meeting to open in a web browser with limited functionality. Now you can join as your signed-in personal Microsoft account from within the Teams app on Windows 11, providing a better meeting experience for all parties. In the first phase of rolling out this new functionality, you will get the new experience when joining a Teams for work or school meeting from within Teams free by tapping a Teams for work or school meeting link in a chat or community within Teams free. Your signed-in personal Microsoft account will be used when you join the meeting.

If you dont have the Teams meeting in your Teams free calendar, a nice little trick is to forward the meeting invite to the email you use to sign in to Teams free. Then you will have the meeting neatly in your Teams calendar, readily available for you to join the meeting when its time. How to join Teams Insider? Its easy to join Teams Insider for earlier access to new features and improvements:

1. Go to app settings in Teams free
2. Navigate to Teams Insider program section (you can get there directly with this link)
3. Tap Join button to join Teams Insider
4. Restart the Teams app and you have the latest features and improvements
