My Windows can't sign in & I can't access my C Drive files

For some reason, my Windows account isn't allowing me to sign in like usual. When I turn it on, I see the message 'We Can't Sign In to Your Account.' I read it and tried to sign out, but after three to four attempts, I decided to cancel instead. Another issue is that when my Windows starts up, all my software, account logins, and preferences on the main screen disappear, and even the theme I was using resets to factory settings. I tried restarting multiple times, but nothing changed; everything reverted to the default settings. Strangely, all the software I installed remains intact. My D and E

Can't access c drive folder after a PC reset

Kindly let me know if you are trying to Create or copy a file to C drive or it is not allowing to open entire C drive , if it is not allowing to open C drive kindly do the steps below

    Follow below steps

Type “command prompt” in search (no quotes).

Right-click Command Prompt from the list, then select Run as Administrator.

Once Command Prompt is up, paste the following command followed by hit enter

    net user "Administrator" /active:yes

Once you complete the steps, you can sign out of the current account and sign in with the Administrator account.

Then run below commands one by one followed by enter in elevated command prompt again

My Windows can't sign in & I can't access my C Drive files

    Accessing a Hard Drive...

    ...from a dead laptop.

My girlfriend's laptop recently s**t the bed, and she has a lot of photos she would like to retrieve from it. I used a USB to IDE cable to try, but it's a no go. Her drive has Windows XP Home on it, and my system has Win7 x64. The computer recognizes the drive, but it wants me to initialize it, which I think may format it.

I don't know if it's formatted FAT32 or NTFS. Are there any suggestions on accessing the drive to pull all this data off of it?
