    My windows computer is being haunted by Avast - is this malware or is Avast being clingy?


    Sorry this is long, I love giving all the details. I'll try and include a tl;dr.An unknown period of time ago I temporarily downloaded an antivirus to double check that I didn't have a virus that my first antivirus couldn't pick up, which I believe to have been Avast, since there's a free version of Avast and I found some leftover shortcut folders of Avast when looking through folders. This antivirus that was presumably Avast was uninstalled after use.Now here's the problem: when doing cleanouts of my appdata folder, I found the Avast folder, and deleted it, since I no longer needed it since I

    Avast Antivirus

    If you've previously encountered issues with Malwarebytes then you may want to avoid using it.

    If Avast and Adwcleaner find no malware issues then you may have eliminated any problems though the use of "Torrents" may expose your computer to additional risks.
