Windows 10: My Windows contacts folder is missing the export toolbar

My Windows Contacts directory is missing the Export toolbar in File Explorer and also in Directory Opus. The result is that I can no longer export Windows .contact files to VCF and import them elsewhere, such as to my phone. Disaster!I have been using Windows Contacts for years, and exporting them for years. Exporting contacts (People) from Outlook.Live.Com

Using Windows 10 ver 1909.

I need to export the contacts from People in Outlook.Live.Com to a CSV file and have found several "how to"s on the web.
The mostly all say something like this.

You can export your contacts from Outlook.com and then import them into other email apps such as Gmail or Yahoo, or other versions of Outlook.

Sign in to Outlook.com.

Select People at the lower left corner of the page to go to the People page.

On the far right of the toolbar, select Manage > Export contacts..

All goes well until I reach the last step. Manage > Export contacts doesn't show up anywhere on the page. The closest I can come is under the diamond like symbol but it doesn't yield any thing about exporting or importing for that matter.

What am I doing wrong?

Windows 10 contacts folder

I should have done a better job of expressing what I'm looking for.

1) Some form of windows 10 contact folder replacement. A contacts/address book type of thing that will display something like the columns that were available in the contacts folder; for Names, phones numbers (home and business), email addresses, notes.

2) The ability to make the list compact in order to assist scrolling thru the list of hundreds of contacts efficiently.

3) I need to be able to export an android phone contacts list that consists of phone contacts only...no email contacts. I used to be able to do this, but eventually there came a time that, even tho there are no visible email contacts displayed when viewing my phone's contact app list, when that exported list is imported into an empty gmail contact list, somehow all my gmail contacts are now included.

Not only is the Outlook setup underwhelming, and has no option to make it compact, when I try to import the the exported gmail Outlook csv file, I get this





and it won't let me delete more than 50 contacts at a time, which apparently means that if I want to delete a list of more than 50 contacts, I must select them one art a time. Even If I wanted to use the People app from the start menu, there doesn't seem to be an optional login requirement. I'm not comfortable with that kind of easy access on my desktop. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Maybe someone could recommend a third party Windows app that fits my description?

 

Import/Export Contacts


Hi,

Basically, I want to manually sync contacts back and forth, between my computer and my phone.

Going from computer to phone, the easiest way for me has been exporting/backing up the computer's .vcf file, moving it to my phone, delete my phones current contact list, and then importing the .vcf file from the computer, which instantly results in an complete, updated list.

However, going in the other direction is my problem.

If I try to do the same in reverse, trying to import the .vcf file into the computer contacts, it wants to do it one contact at a time, instead of the full list all at once.

I suppose they can be Imported/Exported thru gmail, but I would prefer doing it directly...phone contacts only, without importing gmail contacts
