Windows 10: My windows defender history keeps crashing and for somereason I can't access my...

so I followed the steps of a previous users question and reply, yet for some reason I can't access the folder above to fix it even after giving myself access through the folder settings. I am very confused.

Did not work for me. After going through all steps I still have protection history full

 

Clearing Windows Defender history

Hey, what you need to do is so simple, just follow the steps below exactly in order:

1. Turn OFF Real-time Protection
2. Turn OFF Cloud-delivered Protection
3. Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service
4. Delete the contents in the folder
5. Turn ON Real-time Protection
6. Turn ON Cloud-delivered Protection

That's it... Now check protection History, it's empty.
Done!

 

Protection History Keeps Crashing

My Window's Defender keeps crashing every time I open up my Protection history, I did these steps and it didn't fix it.

Open Settings > update and security > windows security > virus and threat protection.
Click manage settings.

Kindly turn off Real-time Protection and Cloud-delivered Protection.
Close settings.

Kindly navigate this path:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service

Remove everything that is inside that folder.

Once remove, turn on Real-time Protection and Cloud-delivered Protection again.
