Windows 10: My Windows Defender is seems like gone, and I cannot open any of the security center

I try to installed games which is not comes from steam or any stores, and after that I realized that the defender is gone, I try to get it back without removing all my games and apps in my laptop but it's seems not work. I cannot open the Windows Security Center or the Virus & Threat Protection app. Is there any way to download or revert the Windows Defender?P.S. I didn't make the restore points so I cannot revert the actionsIt's appeared only 4 menus in Windows Security tab in Updates and Security Topics: Virus & Threat Protection, Account Protection, App & Browser Control, and Fa

windows defender & security center services keep turning off


Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

Open Windows Defender Security Center in Windows 10  


I noticed tonight that windows defender or the windows defender security center both are not in my all apps list. When I start ms services it shows that defender is running. I just can't seem to open the security center. When I try to via the settings window, nothing at all happens. No error message, nothing. I rebooted and still nothing.

My calculator and photo viewer also quit opening but right now I'm more concerned about windows defender since I don't have an alternate av on my system.

 

Windows Defender Security Center Won't Stay Open

When I open Windows Defender Security Center, it opens and then closes itself.

I’m running Windows 10 Home, v1703, with the latest updates.

I run Norton Security as my primary AV & firewall with the latest updates.

I did a system reset in the last couple of months.

Defender seems to be functioning, but generating the following errors:

I have tried options 3 and 5 in this tutorial: Turn On or Off Windows Defender Real-time Protection in Windows 10. Options 1 and 2 aren’t available to me since the settings window won’t stay open. Option 4 isn’t available for Windows Home.

As I said above, AFAICT, Defender seems to be working, but the Defender Security window won’t stay open and it’s generating a lot of errors.

Any suggestions for troubleshooting and/or fixing this issue?
