Windows 10: My Windows installation was suddenly corrupted

about a week ago my windows was taking very long to load, like 10-15 min off SSD, so I force shut it down and restart it, then my computer kept on crashing randomly and displaying different errors each time such as IRQL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, TRIED_TO_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY and the ever helpful, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. I ran the sfc /scannow command and found that some files were corrupted so I tried restarting my pc to load off my boot media and then the PC just stopped getting to windows or even posting. The next day it was stable enough to re-install windows and all seemed fine.


A day ago I was trying my hand at dual-booting Linux and trying VMs. I didn't touch the drive with windows installed to it but it somehow corrupted itself again and this time it was much worse, where my Chrome files and profiles was not working and different files are corrupted every time I start the PC. I tried reinstalling windows however whenever it restarted to continue the update, it would not do so properly and stop the installation. it didn't even work from the boot media.


Is there a way I can have a stable windows installation without losing all my files?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

 

Windows Installer Corrupted

Hey, well a couple days ago I installed "Microsoft Update" over Windows Update, and WOW is that a great app, not only can it not update anything, but it corrupted my Windows Installer. Well since Windows XP knows better than me, I redownloaded Windows Installer 3.0 redistributable, and SWEET, Windows says "it's older than the current version, no update is necessary" and not only necessary but not possible to install. SOOOO should I reinstall SP2 or what? This is crazy. Thanks for the help
