    My windows is stuck restarting after canceling update by holding down the power button


    As the title says, my windows 10 is stuck rebooting after me cancelling the update by holding the power button.

    What happens is when i boot the laptop (an Asus Rog Strix), it shows the rog strix logo with the spinning circle, then it says undoing changes made to your computer for a second and then it reboots and does the same thing

    I am unable to access the boot recovery menu so any help would be nice.

    Stuck in Reboot loop after power cut

    Hi,

    We understand your concern and appreciate the time and effort that you have invested in to fix the issue.

    Before we proceed, I would like you to state which troubleshooting steps have you performed bedsides the mentioned to fix the issue.

    As per the description, I suspect that you might be stuck in a reboot loop. I suggest that you perform Power Drain and check if it helps

    • Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 30sec
    • Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

    Lumia 625 restarts when holding power button

    My Lumia 625 restarts when i push the power button and hold it.

    At first the standard screen appears to power off via slide down.

    But if i wait en keep on holding de power button the phone will restart.

    Does any ony recongise this behavior so is this normal or a bug?

    Hi Sue,

    To understand the issue better, I would like to ask some questions:

    • Is the computer stuck in the Installing updates screen?
    • For how long is the computer stuck in the screen?
    • When was the computer last updated?
    • Is the screen showing any percentage of installation?

    Sometimes the installation might take a long time to install if the update is of large size. So, I suggest you to wait for sometime and check if the system boots to the desktop. If it is taking a longer time, then perform a Power Drain by following the steps
    provided below:

    • Shut down the Computer.
    • Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
    • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
    • Connect the power source and start the computer.
    • After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.
