Windows 10: My windows key wont work and I suspected it was an accidental windows lock

I think I own a Toshiba® Portege Z30 Laptop, 13.3" Screen, Intel® Core™ i7, 16GB Memory, 256GB Solid State Drive, Cosmo Silver, Windows® 8.1 Pro but it probably an earlier version of it maybe just not a pro and I need to use the windows key to quickly switch from apps when I am using a full screen app like a game and I also suspect that its a windows lock but I dont know what combination my pc uses so I REALLY DO NEED HELP! Thank you.

If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage

there is a gaming mode switch on the keyboard (above the F2+F3 keys) - if it is in gaming mode/broken (i've seen 2 G11s with broken switches) the windows key won't work (nor will one or two other system keys). It's like that so that you can't accidentally hit it while gaming, which can minimise some games.

 

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
