Windows 10: my windows slideshow keeps taking pictures outside the folder i assigned it to

my lokc screen slideshow has a folder i put pictures i want to it, but it keeps defaulting to the windows stock images. also the clock and date doesnt show up even though its clearly selected. the preview shows clock and date to be shown but it doesnt show up. i wated 10 min and the picture dont change, the date and time dont show up

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Lockscreen slideshow

Hi William,

The Slideshow option under Lock screen's Background section provides users to assign multiple folders as the source of the pictures. You can perform the following to add other folders that contains your photos:

• Search and launch Lock screen settings using Cortana.
• Under choose albums for your slideshow, click on Add a folder.
• Locate and select the specified folder that contains the photos that you'd like to add to the slideshow.
• Click on OK.

When taking a picture with WP (mango) is there an option to assign a name for it?

No there is currently no way to assign names to pictures.

I don't 100% understand the dilemma becuase instead of assigning a name, directly upload it to Facebook instead. Assigning a name to it before the upload would be an extra step. Or do I misunderstand?
