Windows 10: My wired Xbox 360 controller isn't recognized by Windows anymore.

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and Windows 11. When I plug in the controller it says "USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognized it."I've looked all over online for any solutions. I've uninstalled drivers, devices, done a bunch of seemingly unnecessary steps but nothing has worked. When I look at the device in device manager, it says "Unknown USB Device Device Descriptor Request Failed, and for this reason I can't just update the drivers via the Xbox Accessories App because it doesn't even see the controlle

Plus, the controller works perfectly fine with my actual 360 console, it just won't work with my computer. All of my USB ports work perfectly fine, even with other wired Xbox One controllers, but I'd like to use my 360 controller, mostly because I prefer the feel of the grips, triggers, and joysticks, plus nostalgia.

The controller works fine, the USB port(s) work fine, I believe it's a Windows problem and I don't know how to work around it.

The drivers for Xbox 360 Controllers are automatically installed on Windows 10. If your Xbox 360 wired controller is not detected by your PC, try plugging it into a different USB port, and then test it again.

Xbox One controller being recognized as a 360 Controller

There are several reasons why your Xbox One controller is detected as an Xbox 360 controller by your PC. It is possible that the controller is not updated or if you previously used an Xbox 360 controller on the PC, it is still detecting its drivers instead
of the Xbox One controller drivers. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

• Have you used an Xbox 360 controller on the same computer before?
• Does the error message occur on all of the games that you play?
• Have you tried to update the controller?
• Are you using an Xbox One Elite controller?
