Windows 10: My wireless Win10 laptops can see others but not themselves

My 2 wireless Windows10 laptops can see other computers on my workgroup network but not themselves. On the other hand my Windows 10 desktop computer connected by Ethernet cable can see itself and the others.

Previously the laptops could see themselves in File Explorer. The most recent change has been to upgrade firmware of the Netgear R7000 router. The OS is Windows 10 Pro v10.0.17134

Windows 10: Can see current wireless network, not seeing others

Thanks Geethu - unfortunately these steps didn't address my problem. I am not having a problem finding wireless networks *overall*. I am currently connected to the internet via a wireless network. The problem is that I am only seeing two wireless networks
on my desktop computer while my laptop computer can see many others in the area. FOr instance, we have a wireless extender in the house as well as a wireless thermostat. My laptop sees them both; my desktop doesn't.

I did try turning my antivirus and firewalls off but that didn't help.

My computer was custom built. I have a Qualcomm Atheros AR946x Wireless Network Adapter.

I do not get any error messages. The networks simply do not appear in any lists of available networks. Were I to guess I'd say my computer thinks all these networks are "hidden" networks even though they're not.

Cannot see my wireless network but other devices can.

I have lost the connection to my wireless and cannot get it back - all other devices can see and use it but I can no longer see it. I am not very techy so can anyone help
