    Hi there,

    I recently tried to open a Word document via "recent" tab in Microsoft Words but it says "Sorry , we couldn't find your file. Was it moved, renamed or deleted?"

    The thing is I have never touched it or anything since I last edited and it's not showing up in the folder either despite being in "recent".

    So I did a quick search in File Explorer and I could find the document still and when I click on it, it brings me to another document in the same folder. I've made it to show Hidden documents and to no avail.

    What should i do?

    Hi Katheryn

    Please explain this in more detail, where has the file/folder disappeared from, is that from inside Word or from Windows File Explorer

    Do you know the exact folder you saved to, and if you open Windows File Explorer, can you not locate that file?

    Does the file still appear in the Recent list of Word, if so, what is the reported location of that file?

    File Explorer in Win 10 taskbar not showing Recent folders

    When I right-click Word or Excel in my Windows 10 taskbar, a list of recent folders appears. But when I right-click File Explorer, only Pinned and Frequent folders appear. Neither of these is as useful to me as the Recent folders. Any suggestions on how
    I can get Recent folders to appear?

    Disappearing folder

    I've encountered a strange problem in windows 10 where I tried to delete a file in a folder, but ended up deleting the whole directory. It did so without the usual pop-up to confirm delete or say it was too big for the recycle bin. It was my Videos folder, so pretty big, but the disk allocation has also remained the same.

    I've always had a problem with 'double icons' for the different user folders, including videos, and so I'm thinking it could have something to do with the whole thing, especially as now one of the two video folders has disappeared from the users folders.

    The first thing i tried was 'Undo delete', but it just bought the folder back with non of the contents. Then, I went straight to Recuva, but it came up blank (there must have been over 50 videos in the folder)

    I'm at a little bit of a loss as where to start looking for this disappeared folder and was hoping someone might have some suggestions?
