  2. HotSpot Shield

    Hi thomlyons,

To uninstall HotSpot Shield you need to disable the VPN profile first. If you don't know how, please contact HotSpot Shield support for assistance. Once you have disabled the VPN profile follow the steps below to uninstall the app.

    1. Go to the app list and look for HotSpot Shield.

    2. Touch and hold the app.

    3. Then tap uninstall.

    Sincerely,

Windows 10 version 2004 upgrade failed with error 0x800707E7 - caused by MyDesk Shield SentryBay

    Hi all

Just thought I should post this because I have been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 version 2004 for a few days and every time the upgrade failed during the automatic initial reboots while upgrading with the error: [0x000007E7].

Looking a bit closer in the upgrade logs:

    Code:
Win32Exception: User profile suffix mismatch, upgrade cannot continue: The specified profile is intended for a device of a different type than the specified device. [0x000007E7]Error SP Apply first boot apply, online phase: Migration phase failed. Result: 4, specific error: 0x800707E7[gle=0x00000002]
I also noticed references to a local user with the name: "SAS" (profile in:
c:\users\SAS) in the upgrade logs which was causing the problems. Deleting this user was successful but I could not remove the user profile.

I later found out that the user was created by the application/service "MyDesk Shield" by SentryBay software every time the machine would be rebooted, so deleting the user would be reversed again -
what a piece of ****! After making sure the MyDesk service was not running during start-up (disable Service in System Configuration) I could completely remove the user and the profile form the
    PC.

After this I could successfully upgrade to Windows 10 version 2004.
