    for some reason my PrtSc button is opening up my "file" program, i just want to take screenshots and it wont let me, is there anyway i can change the function on my keyboard

    I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with PrtSc button not working. Did you made any changes recently? When was the last time it's working properly?

    Try these key combinations to check if they are working

    a. Ctrl + Windows key + PrtSc

    b. Ctrl + PrtSc

    c. Fn + PrtSc.

    Press Start then search Settings

    Select Ease of Access > Keyboard

    Scroll down and find the option > toggle on "Use the PrtScn button to open snipping"

    My PrtSc button used to save automaticallly to One Drive>Pictures>Screenshots, with one touch; now (possibly after a windows auto-update...? Not sure) it seems to do nothing!
