Mysterious 'updates need to be installed' notification

Windows 10 Home installs updates automatically so it shouldn't be that-but the icon is from the Windows Settings app & the message doesn't further identify what updates need to be installed. Any guesses?

Thank you Ruth for this answer, but I don't have any issues with Windows Update services.

I just want to find out what updates were installed on my machine last night, but I can't find any trace of this updates, or any of the log files regarding these mysterious updates.

Mysterious 'updates need to be installed' notification

I have seen this happen if new hardware has been installed and Windows recognises that a driver update is needed. Alternatively it can happen if an update has been downloaded but not yet installed for reasons such as a heavy use of the computer preventing the automatic installation going ahead.

Thanks. No new hardware so I'll assume it's a Windows update that didn't install automatically for some reason. Unless 'new hardware' might be old hardware on a new port? I've seen that reinstall drivers. Heavy use is hard to say, mostly this is used for Internet & games but maybe it tried to install while an automatic scan was in progress or something.
