Windows 10: Nancy Drew PC games on Windows 11? The game is flickering like crazy and I can't figure out...

I just got a new laptop and it’s running on Windows 11. I am a big Nancy Drew gamer and I have all of the games on physical disc. I can install the games on my computer perfectly fine, but then when I go to open the game it flickers so badly, it’s almost like strobe lighting. It’s completely unplayable, which is so hard for me because I’m constantly playing a ND game! Does anyone know how to fix it?

I just purchased the Lenovo Ideapad 3 with i5 Intel Core processor. I recently downloaded Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy, as I've been an avid gamer and Nancy Drew gamer since the early 2000s. I have had a Mac since 2012 so you can imagine my excitement now that I finally own a PC again since childhood. However, when I try to start up the game, the screen flickers, and it looks like the screen is having a spasm. I do not have any additional monitors, just the laptop screen. I have run other newer games downloaded from Steam and they work perfectly. I understand that this Nancy Drew game is 32-bit and was released in 2013. I thought Windows 11 was capable to run 32-bit programs in addition to the 64-bit ones. I downloaded the game from Steam and directly from HER Interactive but unfortunately, the game in both instances still glitches the screen flickers. I want to download several other ND games and older PC games so PLEASE HELP!

EDIT: I have run all the compatibility tests switching to gameplay in different/older operating systems but the screen still flickers.

Let me help you with the screen flickering problem when playing Nancy Drew Games on Windows 11.



From your description I know that everything is fine when you are playing STEAM games, only when you play Nancy Drew Games the problem occurs.

In summary, I can judge that the game you are currently playing is not compatible with the current system version, you can use compatibility mode to run the game.

Right click on the Nancy Drew Games> select Properties > Compatibility > check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for”> select another mode >ok

I suggest you try running Windows 7 or Windows XP (Service Pack 3) by select it on this page.
