Windows 10: Narrator Opens On Top Of Tool Bar in 10240

When I start Windows 10, the Narrator Box opens on top of the windows icon and the "Search Window" words at the bottom left side of the screen. If I open the Narrator Box and then put it back down, it always goes to it's proper position "within" the tool bar and from then on all is well.


Is there a way to not need to do this step at startup? I would think the Narrator icon should simply open within the tool bar, to the right of the "Search Window" space. You can see it is in both locations at startup!

Attached picture shows exactly how it looks at startup. Incidentally, this only happens when your have "Auto Hide" tool bar checked in the Tool Bar Properties Box. If tool bar is not hidden, this white Narrator box never shows up.

Click in the Search box, then on the three bars at the top of the window, then on settings (the gearwheel at the bottom). Scroll down until you find the Keyboard shortcut setting. If it's off, turn it on

Try Ctl-Win Key-Enter

 

How to disable narrator in Windows 10.

This is the easiest way and you do not need to modify the registry:

It is done in 4 steps:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Narrator settings and select the top most search result.
• Slide the Start Narrator Automatically option bar to Off status under Hear text and controls on the screen.
• On the same screen slide the Narrator option bar to Off status
• Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

 

WOW! Almost 24 hours ago and not the slightest inkling of an answer or any suggestions.
I guess it is a non issue to most everyone, but I guess the little things bug me the most!

 

I think most people don't see a version number, so makes it a little hard to tell what build you are on
