  1. NAS device not display non-media files

I am trying to access an external hard drive attached to my Linksys EA6350 router. I cannot map the drive, I can access the folders and any media files residing in them through the icon on "this computer." Excel files and Word files do not appear. I have checked and verified all the settings. I am wit's end as to how to get this to work.

    :)

    NAS drives redesignated as Media

Hi I have 3 or 4 NAS drives (for Back Ups and Files) Normally they are listed under "Network" but they are now listed as media devices and so I cannot open them to see files. One is a Seagate and the others are Buffalo. How can I reset them to be NAS devices please - Thanks Jean

  3. NAS device shows as Media device

I have some NAS devices attached to my home network.

When Win 10 boots up it correctly identifies them as NAS devices

But when I return to my machine after a period away the NAS devices have been classed as Media devices and so cannot be accessed

In this case I have to re-boot.

NAS device not display non-media files

NAS devices no longer displayed under "Network" in file explorer - Windows 7

I have 2 Synology NAS devices connnected to home network

Until recently, both devices were displayed under "Network" tab in file explorer, and I could browse to folders and files on the NAS devices.

Now, neiher of the devices are displayed under the "Network" tab

I can successfully connect to both devices via web browser, and can successfully "map network drive" from the NAS devices

How can I get the NAS devices to show under "Network" tab ?

Would appreciate any help or advice
