Is windows 11 retarded?Yes possibly. I had zero problems with windows 10 forever with network drives and now this.No fix in sight, no online help with Windows what a surprise even though they are happy to sell you 365 premium endlessly while you are logged in.Am I just screaming into the ether here?Every time I boot up again my security settings on my NAS drives reset. what do I mean1. I try to copy from my NAS to another NAS, no go, says the drive does not exist, try the same from my NAS to an onboard drive, same bu*&^it.2. If you are able to ping your Machine and it responds.

Try to view if your NAS appears on the Network List:

Then Try to List the content of one of the directories:

If all this works Try to map a drive on one share:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
