Windows 10: NAS not visible in File Explorer after update in Windows 11 Pro

I have two Zyxel NSA310 NAS devices, each fitted with a 2TB HDD.After my Windows 11 Pro PC recently updated to Version 24H2 I could not see either NAS in the File Explorer under Computers. I can still see them under Media Devices but this does not enable me to access my shared files. I can still see the NASs using my Windows 10 PCs Version 22H2.I can see that this has affected other users, and followed a link to this article by Ned Pyle: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/filecab/accessing-a-third-party-nas-with-smb-in-windows-11-24h2-may-fail/4154300. NAS drive is not visible in Explorer

I have a puzzling issue. I have a laptop with Windows 8.1 (wireless attached), I have recently added a Windows 10 PC (cable attached) to temporarily replace my old server and I have update a further PC from WIN7 to WIN10 (wireless attached).

On the updated PC(WIN10) I can see the NAS drive in Explorer listed under NETWORK in the left hand pane.

Since this was updated I can no longer see the NAS drive, listed under NETWORK, in either the laptop or the temporary server replacement PC. What I have on these two devices is a NAS icon listed under NETWORK LOCATIONS in the right hand pane.

Although I can manage the NAS from all the PCs, and as such isn't a problem, I don't understand why this is and even after much trawling through of settings I can not find a reason

Any help?

Addendum: I also have an old WIN7 PC on the network as well and that does not show the NAS drive under NETWORK and neither does it have a NETWORK LOCATIONS icon either.

There is also a satellite receiver that is on the network (I had forgotten about it as it isn't used much) and this is ONLY visible on the WIN7 PC.

 

File Transfer Speed from Windows 11 to Synology NAS is VERY SLOW vs. Windows 10

I have a new Windows 11 PC and I'm noticing that the file sharing to my Synology NAS is very slow vs when I transferred files from my older Windows 10 PC.

File Transfer Speeds:

• Windows 11 to NAS (DS1520+) = 11.5 MB/s
  
• Windows 11 to Windows 10 = 112 MB/s (much faster)
  
• File size = 30GB
  

Note:

• Windows PCs and NAS are all Ethernet connected on 1GB home network.
  
• Running: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
  
• Running: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5
  

Any suggestions on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

NAS not visible


I am at a loss to understand why my NAS should be visible from Windows 7 machines and some Windows 10 machines but not from ALL Win 10 machines. I open file explorer and click on Network. It goes and searches for responses from devices. The other machines both real and virtual that are switched on show up but the NAS which is switched on and ready does not. If I do this from any of my Win 7 machines or my real Windows 10 machine the NAS shows up.
Can anyone suggest where I might look to see why it is not appearing?

I can ping the NAS from the Win10 machine which is not showing the NAS successfully.
