  1. Nasty virus and no login option after restarting my pc

I have a nasty virus I'm trying to deal with so I switched to safe mode then restarted my laptop. My pc started but the usual login option is gone. There's no way for me to sign in. I tried different keyboard combinations but nothing.

I appreciate any help thank you!!

    :)

  2. Windows 10 grey screen+cursor after boot

A few days earlier I performed another usual virus scan with my anti-virus software. It detected a few potentical viruses, and proceeded to delete them. A restarted was required by that software after that, so I restarted the PC (I didn't do anything except
that before the restart). After then every time I turned on my PC, a grey screen with cursor will be displayed after the boot screen of my Asus motherboard, instead of the Windows login screen that is supposed to come after the boot screen. I entered the bios
and there's nothing wrong with the hardware. So it must be the anti-virus software deleting critical system components. I tried to use a recovery usb to fix the issue, but the startup repair option didn't work, running sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r m with the
command prompt in the advance start option menu didn't work. Using short cuts such as Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Ctr+Shift+Esc when on the gray screen didn't do anything. Please help, my PC is completely inaccessable.

Generally if the OS is that compromised, your best & safest bet would be to do a reinstall.

However, you can opt to d/l & run a AV boot disk. This will run before the OS boots & attempt to repair the system.

Hi kellabella83 and welcome to Tenforums.
Have to say, I agree with Borg:
Do you know what it is you're infected with?

    I agree with @Borg 386 and @simrick:

The best cure for a nasty malware infection is either a clean install or a restore from a recent image backup.

The malware removal process is relatively easy.
However, repairing the damage (already) done can be quite difficult and very time consuming.

    Good luck,

    Thanks for that @RickC.
    @kellabella83:
Please go to another "clean" computer and download Kyhi's rescue media ISO.
Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk - - Windows 10 Forums
Be sure to download the correct bit-depth for your system (32 or 64 bit).

MOUNT the ISO by right-clicking and select MOUNT or OPEN WITH WINDOWS EXPLORER.
This will assign a drive letter to the ISO. Copy all the files over to an empty flash drive.

Boot the infected system using the flash drive.
Use the internet connection software available in Kyhi's rescue environment to connect to the internet.
Open Malwarebytes Antimalware, update the virus definitions and run a quick scan - delete everything it finds, then run a full scan on your operating system drive, and delete everything it finds.

Save the logs to the flash drive for uploading here.

Once cleaned, boot into your normal desktop.

When you get to this point, we'll need to do some final cleanup.

I also got something on my PC the other day and had to do a clean install to get it working again.

Out of the 3 browsers on my PC(IE11,EDGE & FF it would only let me open Firefox and then it would not let me download anything from that and everthing would just say it couldn't initialize......System restore would not work either.....WD scans showed nothing.

Glad you got that sorted. Sometimes a clean install is best. But, making Macrium Reflect system images is even better. *Wink

A system image can be a lifesaver when something catastrophic hits. It's especially a good idea to have one considering ransomware is running rampant on the net.
