Windows 10: native weather app on lock screen

Not that I use lock screen much but was just curious. Has anyone seen the weather on it? I've never seen it work on any PC. Other features work ok, like tips, or calendar and mail. But weather has never ever shown up. Maybe there is a special trick to it other than the obvious way of adding to the lock screen?

Lock screen not displaying any apps

I upgraded to windows 10 and the lock screen does not display the apps i add.

I added the weather app using Settings -> Lock screen.

After i add the app, any of them, they do not show when i boot up windows.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Lumia 635 - Weather app does not work on lock screen

When changing back to display the weather on the lock screen it is required to open the app from the button in the lock screen settings. There is also a lock screen setting in the weather app settings.

If it is stuck, try changing to another option for the lock screen background then set back to weather and follow the instructions on the settings page to open the app?

It's always worked for me...





...it's set as 'choose an app to show detailed status' in my lock screen settings.

 

Ah ok thanks. That’s prob why as I always have calendar set to detailed whilst weather is in quick. But it doesn’t do anything in quick view. But if I change it to detailed then it shows. Seems a shame you can only have one thing set to detailed
