Windows 10: Natural Ergonomic Keyboard: Buttons above numblock not working correctly / producing wrong...

I bought a Natural Ergonomic Keyboard which has special buttons above the usual numblock. These are labeled as "clear backspace"

However, for me they function as "clear = backspace"

Furthermore, the buttons in the row below that are labeled as "= / * -". For me, the output is "´ / * -". So in total the parantheses and the equal sign = are producing wrong outputs.

I'm using a German keyboard bought in Germany with the system settings set to German keyboard layout. All other keys are working correctly.

I realize that this is almost a duplicate of [1], but none of the provided solutions have helped. Troubleshooter says everything is alright and I downloaded the current versions of drivers and of the software/mouse control center.

I tried to manually fix this by using a software to map the keys diffently. However, I realized that a press on the button labeled "" produces the exact same output as pressing "9 " on the keyboard. Therefore, mapping the button to an opened parentheses shift-8 leads to the regular 9 being mapped to the regular 8.

I'm on a fully up-to-date Windows 10 installation, reinstalled the drivers and have the up-to-date version of the Mouse and Keyboard Center installed.


Any suggestions? Maybe I should get a replacement and see whether it works correnctly?

I suggest you to connect the keyboard to a different computer and check if the issue persists.

If the keyboard does not function correctly on another computer, the keyboard maybe defective. If this is the case, and the warranty on the keyboard is still valid, you may exchange the defective keyboard for a new keyboard.

If the keyboard works fine on a different computer, try the methods listed below:

Method 1

Adjust Language settings:

• Open Settings and click on Time and Language.
  
• Choose Region and Language and make sure the language you’re using on your keyboard (the input language) matches the one you’re using on your PC (the display language).
  

Method 2

Update driver manually:

Install the latest drivers from Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and check if
it works.

If the issue persists, you may get in touch with
Microsoft Hardware Support for further assistance.

MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 not working

I have a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1.0, using it on a windows 10 Pro, and some of the buttons/functions are not working. For example the scroll button is not working, the left and right button on top of the lights are not working. The
star button is also not working. Can you please help me?

I am an Independent Advisor and will assist you.

Right click on Start > Select Device Manager

Click the > Next to Keyboard

Right Click on the Driver > Select Uninstall

Ensure you check the box to remove all files related to driver

Click Ok

Use the Power Button to shutdown the computer

Restart the Computer and Windows will reload drivers for the keyboard.

Retry the keyboard to determine if it's working correctly
